Fitness Journey
Nowadays, my morning thoughts are "when can I get to the gym today?" or "how far am I going to run?". Getting up, moving, being active - it's part of my psyche, my DNA. This undulating trail I'm following has been my path for a while now. I think I've always been conscious of dieting and exercising -- how could I not be with a mom who had me on a diet at 10 years old?! -- but I've slowly come to realize that fitness is my way of life. I was never an athlete in school; in fact, I remember the dreaded softball games (for one season) and even wimped out of gymnastics. But over time, the desire to be thin piqued my exercise interests. There were repeated successful trips to Nutri System (what was it, 3? 4?) and the ladies and gents at Weight Watchers on Research Blvd. knew my name for a while. (There's a yo-yo there somewhere.) Before joining The Q in Austin in 1995, there was a home gym, and there've been 2 other gym memberships in the meantime. And, oh my gosh am I ever swayed by workout infomercials!? Yes, I've Sweated to the Oldies...I even own Tae-Bo DVDs and I almost succumbed to the Insanity videos just last night! So, being a certified personal trainer sort of fits me. My journey isn't just beginning; this is just a new beginning. Welcome.
